When a Greeter meets a Greeter !
I had only known Fred through video calls for several years, and the Facebook posts of the Hamburg Greeters made me want to discover this great city.
Despite my late request, Fred asked me and we went for a long walk along the quays and in the city center.
Fred explained the solutions found to avoid flooding during storms, showed us the church boat and the oldest preserved houses, took us to see the large propeller and then we went to drink a delicious coffee at the Kaffeemuseum Burg.
We finished our stroll at the Rathaus just as the police band was playing.
A huge thank you to Fred for his warm welcome.
