Last Friday we had a nice time with Frank. We met with Frank at St. Michael’s Church. He took us to visit the cathedral and the streets near the church. We then went to see Bismarck’s statue and then retraced the Beatles’ footsteps to Hamburg’s famous red light district. This was an unexpected journey for us. It was a very interesting experience. Frank also introduced us to the former Chinese community and took us to visit the memorial site where the Chinese were persecuted by the Nazis during World War II. We saw decades of people living in Hamburg. The compatriots who make a living in a foreign country have complicated feelings. In addition, Frank also took us to taste special snacks and introduced the original slaughterhouse and the shelter. During the whole trip, which lasted more than 3 hours, Frank explained to us the history, famous figures and diverse community construction of the city. His enthusiasm and energetic state infected us. Thanks so very much for his explanation, which gave us a new understanding of the city of Hamburg. Because of him, Hamburg also has a special meaning during our journey. Thanks again to Frank and Greeter Project, thank you for your selfless efforts, allowing strangers from all over the world to meet in this city, and leaving memories that will last a lifetime.
