Hamburg beyond the beautiful facade

Michael was an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and patient guide. We learnt about the history of Hamburg as a trading city, the various areas of the city – right up to the modern day. Michael’s local knowledge was amazing and he took us to lots of places we ordinarily would have walked by, including the comptoir houses, the beautiful city hall and the former captains house that is now a hotel. His background as an architect played to our interests and we gained new perspectives on the buildings we saw. We visited the historic centre, Hafencity, the warehouse district and St. Pauli. We saw such diversity of people and places. We loved our visit to Hamburg and Michael’s tour. We will definitely be back.Image source: In-house production
