Fred took us for a walk along the lake, to visit a large farmers market, and tour HafenCity, a large urban development project – all things that we were not going to see on our tour of Hamburg. He also helped us learn more about life in Germany and about German culture. We had a wonderful “greet” with Fred and learned a lot about Hamburg. It was one of the highlights of our two weeks in Germany. We are so glad we learned about the International Greeter Association and hope to meet Greeters in other cities.
