A ‘greet’ can be a tour through Hamburg city center<\/strong>. It all started here in the 9th century with the Hammaburg, and this is still our center today. From the main train station to the town hall, from Jungfernstieg to Hafencity, you will find historical and modern buildings, shopping streets, passages and lots of water. Directly beside the imposing town hall from 1897, the “Schleusenbr\u00fccke” lock allows the Alster water to flow away towards the Elbe. Via St.Nikolai War Memorial and historic Deichstrasse you reach Speicherstadt and the city’s new landmark: the Elbphilharmonie. <\/p>\n

Since 2017, the Elbphilharmonie is our new landmark. You can enjoy the panoramic view of the harbor and the city from its Plaza; access is free.<\/p>\n

Town Hall<\/h2>\n

Built 50 years after the Great Fire of 1842 and still the seat of our Senate: City Hall is standing on thousands of wooden piles.<\/p>\n
