It is the world’s largest warehouse area, all built on oak foundation poles. Here one can trace the past of quartermasters and “Pfefferkörner” (traders in spices). You can study the history of the customs and of the restructuring of the harbour. “Dialog im Dunkeln” and the trade with coffee, tea and spices are demonstrated here. Fleetschlösschen (a pub) as well as a coffee-roasting plant with an incorporated café invite you to study the process of roasting while you enjoy your coffee. Lovers of tea, on the other hand, can visit “Wasserschloss”, a former tea outlet, and savour and learn all about tea.
There is an information centre about Hafen-City in the old boiler-house where one can get an insight into pending building-projects.
